Soulflame Creative Services is a First Nations design and consultation company operating out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Soulflame has led the industry in bringing Indigenous content and authentic representation into high profile spaces and has helped pave the way for a new era of reconciliation.
Soulflame has worked with many businesses and organizations all over Alberta. They are currently engaged as the Indigenous consultant and designer for the Edmonton Oilers hockey team, writing the pre-game land acknowledgement video and designing the incredibly popular Turtle Island Indigenous team logo. Soulflame has also worked as a creative collaborator, bringing Indigenous culture and aesthetics into interior design and fashion. His recent shoe collection/collaboration with Kunitz Shoes (Now in collections at the Royal Alberta Museum) was an enormous success, selling out in 2 days and raising money for the MMIWG movement. Soulflame’s 3 year partnership with IKEA Edmonton resulted in the FIRST EVER First Nations Mural and Indigenous Family Showcase room.
Soulflame Creative Services also offeres production and video servbices. His regular featured segment on CTV Morning Live Edmonton shares creative ideas for bringing Indigenous culture and esthetics into everyday life. Their YouTube channel “Indigenous Art Adventures” is a Mr. Dress-Up style kids’ program that brings families together through art, culture, and language. This program is now featured on APTN (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network) and Lumi streaming service, with season 2 in the works!
Soulflame presents the beauty of the Indigenous people in a good way. They bring authentic representation of Indigenous culture and help bridge the understanding between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous communities.
What is the SOULFLAME?
“The Nehiyawak (Cree people) believe that when it’s time for a human being to be born into this world their potential spirit makes the journey to the Creators Flame (manitow iksotew). The spirit chooses a tiny spark from the flame and the Creator drops it into the soft spot of a newborn baby’s head. This gift is called the Soulflame, and that’s what Soulflame Creative Services is all about, taking a tiny spark of an idea and bringing it to its full potential!”
